Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

Since its foundation in 2013, the Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program has trained residents in all facets of orthopedics, allowing them to pursue competitive fellowship opportunities or practice general orthopedics upon graduation.

About the Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

The Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency is an ACGME-accredited residency program that offers a diverse set of faculty, facilities, and experiences with a wide range of orthopedic pathology that meet and exceed all training requirements. Valley Orthopedics prides itself on developing well-rounded orthopedic surgeons with robust hands-on experience and orthopedic knowledge. The program consistently scores in the 90th and above percentile nationwide among both allopathic and osteopathic programs on the annual Orthopedic In-Training Exam.

Training occurs at several hospitals across the Central Valley and Bay Area, including two ACS-certified Level-II trauma centers in Doctors Medical Center and San Joaquin General Hospital, multiple Kaiser Permanente Hospitals, and Valley Children’s Hospital. At each of these facilities, there is significant exposure to a wide variety of patients and cases in all orthopedic specialities. Complex orthopedic trauma, robust arthroscopy and arthroplasty experience, and complete state-of-the art surgical services that include spine surgery, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery, orthopedic oncology, and pediatric orthopedics are all readily available. The comprehensive five year curriculum fulfills the requirements of both the AOBOS and ABOS board certification exams.
